					"Illiteracy is terrible!
Art illiteracy is even more terrible!"
					Guanzhong Wu, a deceased painter.

					“Art”, other than being viewed
					as something "beautiful",
also contains the meaning of “goodness”,
which belongs to the realm of the soul.
					Art illiteracy is terrible, because
if goodness is removed from human,
					the soul is emptied
and the being is just a "beast"!

					A sick soul needs healing
How can a soul be filled with goodness?
					Art is the channel through
which goodness can be poured in.
In Hong Kong, art has always been
					categorized as something similar
					to entertainment
					and a non-essential expense;
therefore it is not given the resources
that it deserves! In physical illness,
the symptoms are easier to see,
and the patient knows he needs
					to seek medical attention; therefore,
					we find the growth
					of charitable organizations
					that offer free medical care.
However, for the illness of the soul,
the symptoms are not obvious; therefore,
it is hard to find people
					to sponsor art activities
					and the channel to goodness
					is thus blocked.

					Art exposure begins
					from local cultural heritage.
					October 2, 2009,
					Cantonese opera was recognized
					as an "intangible cultural heritage
of human beings" by the UNESCO.
Cantonese opera is a local art
of Hong Kong.  It is beyond doubt
that we can go from here
to begin the journey of art.
